“The Thermals” is a reference to the iconic Pee-Chee portfolios and uses the typography and shading of the line-drawn figures well-known to the original motif.
“MFNW” is an homage to Roberto Longo’s “Men in the Cities” and brings to mind the limbs of Longo’s figures as they would look on the letters “M,” “F,” “N” and “W.” The poster is a calendar for September 2009 and highlights the nights of the festival.
